I grew up as a JW like many of you guys did in the 'old days' - before the GB turned into rock stars.
I literally cannot believe what this organisation has turned into. The happy clapping, the soft rock music videos, the uncomfortable dancing, the cheesy smiles.
It is more cult-like than ever and it seems like a bunch of maniacs trying to forget that there is absolutely no substance when you scratch off the veneer.
Watching this stuff makes my skin crawl.
gb worried about not enough coming to in person meetings.
what are they going to be like when they realise not only jdubs don’t want to go to in person meetings but they really don’t want to go back on the min.
zoom has so much more appeal for rather than meetings or door to door.
I spoke to a die hard jw relative a couple of days ago who said they only have about 30% physically attending meetings. This is despite all the 'encouragement' from the gb to attend in person.
Door to door might be slow to achieve momentum based on those figures.

JW's are the same as any religion - christian or otherwise. Every religion offers its members an opportunity to cheat death provided they follow the rules of that religion.

I really thought it would be much longer before door to door witnessing would return. But this was based on flawed reasoning that the GB actually cared about the health of dubs.
An announcement like this, giving only a months notice, sounds like panic mode.
There will be lot of dubs that have become comfortable that will find this hard to swallow.
obviously, the older “ anointed ” from 1914 died.
and because they were anointed, they hopefully went to heaven.
in the first century though, a newer generation did not replace the old.

also dress up for zoom if you must use it.
locally over half are on zoom, 3/4 no picture.
Gb are happy to make a show about how loving the org is by making online meetings available because of the pandemic.
However, the pandemic is far from over and is biting harder than ever in a lot of parts of the world.
Now they want butt cheeks back on seats but the bro's have had a taste of freedom and it might be hard to reel them back in.

Some definitions of gen x require being born between 1968- 1980. As I am a gen x'er, Ill stick with those. It doesnt feel right to be in the same generation as this guy.
